Story of The Junkyard Bee
Mark Lewis from San Antonio TX was searching for an A12 lift off hood Super Bee. He put on a local car forum what he was looking for. An 18 year old who was working at a junkyard west of San Antonio responded to the $1,000 bounty by saying he thought he spotted something that looked like that. Mark visited the next day and sure enough it was a real A12 lift off hood Super Bee all there.

Mark commissioned the best in A12 restorations in Wayne Smothers and sent the car off to Oklahoma for the 3 year ground up restoration. Wayne said this was a labor of love that any normal man would have ran from. Wayne rebuilt the 440 Six Pack, rebuild the 4 Speed transmission and in his words every other square inch of the car. The only non factory change was Mark wanted buckets and a console. Its a factory bench seat car.

After years of enjoying the car along side his Shelby collection, Mark sold the car through RK Motors in Charlotte to a Car Collector in Toledo, OH who had over 150 cars. He didn't keep the car long and sold it to Roger Burns in Swansboro, NC a Real Estate Agent and large car collector. He drove the car 5 times in 7 years before selling it to the Boggs Stable. This car is my dad's dream car and Multiple Best of Show recipient including 2022 Summit Nationals Piston Power First Place at the IX Center in Cleveland OH.
