1970 COPO Chevelle SS
Barn Find, Central Office Production Order built for AutoRama display, 3 Year No Expense Spared Restoration
In 2010 Jim Brown (well known Chevelle Expert) and Mike Pruitt started a 3 year restoration on this super rare car. It was a barn find from New Paris, OH and was found in the back of a barn on an farm that had been sold in an Estate Sale. The car had not seen the road since 1973 and had just under 60k miles. In the process of restoring the interior back seat, the original build sheet was found along with the Protecto Plate. Jim called me at work and told me I needed to get to the shop as fast as possible. We were working on the car General Motors specifically built for the Detroit AutoRama. The LS6 454/450 hp 4 Sed car now was a dream build. Everything on the car was OEM if replaced and the white vinyl top, white stripes, white interior really drew a crowd. After fininshing the car in 2014, I took it to a few car shows before selling it. Every collector has the one they wish they had back. In October 2023 Peter Clement in Rochester, NY found me and sold the car back to the Stable. It's back HOME!
